The Pocket Radar team was in Columbus, OH for the annual AVCA (Amateur Volleyball Coaches Association) convention and Women’s Final Four December 15-17. We were thrilled to see a big fan of our technology, Stanford women’s volleyball head coach John Dunning, capture his 5th National Championship. He was recognized as the 2016 AVCA Women’s Coach of the Year. It was also nice getting to catch up with Ithaca College head coach, Johan Dulfer, who stopped by the booth after his presentation “Serving with a Purpose: Speed and Scoring.”
The annual convention is very important to the company because it lets us interact and engage with volleyball coaches of all levels across the country. We can get a feel for how the coaches think about the product, how they use it, and what else they would like to see from Pocket Radar. This year we were happy to display our new Pro Radar System, which was created with direct feedback and input from coaches at past conventions.
The most affordable pro performance radar system on the market, the Pro Radar System has up to 200 feet of range on a baseball, over 300 feet on larger objects and is very portable for on-field battery powered operation that lasts all day. It has multiple mounting configurations, uses standard Alkaline C-size batteries and is also compatible with standard USB power supply and battery solutions. Players and coaches working with training facilities, showcases, camps, clinics and combines will be able to get instant feedback on serving and hitting speeds to help them get better faster. It also creates an interactive experience for spectators.
