June 4, 2015 –

Pocket Radar, Inc. is proud to announce a partnership with The Youth Baseball Nationals, and that the Ball Coach model will serve as the “Official Radar Gun.”  Produced by Athletx, The Youth Baseball Nationals are week long youth baseball tournaments for 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, 14U and 15U teams that take place at four locations to choose from, all with their own unique amenities.  The sports-model Ball Coach radar will be available for purchase at each of the 4 tournament locations in 2015, as well as through their online web stores.
The Ball Coach radar is a pro-level radar gun and speed-training tool for player coaching or self-guided drills, with hands-free operation keeping it simple.  Because of its discreet and convenient size, coaches and parents are able to analyze player tendencies without affecting behavior. By measuring crucial results like Ball Exit Speed off the bat (also referred to as Exit Velocity), pitch speed and position player arm strength, training with the Ball Coach radar helps athletes get better, faster.
We’re delighted to be partnering with Athletx to help families learn how our Ball Coach radar can be used as a powerful new tool for skills development,” said Steve Goody, CEO and co-founder of Pocket Radar, Inc.  “The Youth Baseball Nationals are not just baseball tournament events, but destination vacations for parents and kids to have a great time.  It also doesn’t hurt that they are able to take in some great games and watch some very talented young athletes play ball.”
The Nationals youth baseball tournaments are held at the best youth baseball parks in the country, including the Elizabethtown Sports Park in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Grand Park at Market Common in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the Ormond Beach Sports Complex in Daytona Beach, Florida and NCFD Baseball Park in San Marcos, Texas. The Nationals unique tournament format is the same at each location. The week long youth baseball tournament for 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, 14U and 15U teams begin each week on Friday night with an incredible opening ceremony. Saturday marks the beginning of pool play that runs through Tuesday evening. Each player and coach receives complimentary admission to local area water parks, amusement parks and other entertainment attractions during the week. Wednesday starts the elimination round into Thursday morning. Championship Thursday includes a full day of activities for all teams, regardless if you’ve been eliminated from the tournament or not, including the Nationals All-Star game, MLB World Series giveaway, Skills Competitions, player swag bags and much, much more.
It is an honor to have a partnership with Pocket Radar.  Definitely a privilege to share their revolutionary product with the talented teams of the Youth Baseball Nationals,” said Chuck Haddaway, Executive Vice President of Athletx, the creators and producers of the premier national youth baseball tournament.  “There’s no doubt that the palm-sized technology and the portable convenience will become a valuable teaching tool for the coaches, parents, players and teams of the Youth Baseball Nationals.”
About The Youth Baseball Nationals
The Youth Baseball Nationals is the premier youth baseball tournament in the nation! The Nationals is a week-long national tournament for 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, 14U and 15U baseball teams. There’s nothing quite like the Nationals in youth baseball. The event features teams from all over the country, each week from the seven different age groups. Each team plays 6-10 games during the tournament. Schedules are carefully determined by placing teams with similar classification and skill level against each other during the 4 days of pool play to promote an even playing level with parity among participating teams. This is unique to the Nationals. We make every effort to create an atmosphere where every team can compete, regardless of skill level. Our objective is to promote an equal playing level within the field during the pool play portion of the tournament. Teams are then seeded for the elimination round based on their performance and strength of schedule. For more information about The Youth Baseball Nationals, visit www.baseballnationals.com
