2019 NFCA Convention Recap

For the 10th straight year, the Pocket Radar team had a great time exhibiting at the annual National Fastpitch Coaches Association convention.  As on Official Sponsor of NFCA, we are dedicated to providing the most accurate technology to the softball community, at an affordable price.  "The NFCA National Convention is the largest gathering of fastpitch coaches & exhibitors on earth. This four-day event boasts expert speakers, drills sessions, networking opportunities, social events, awards, an exhibit show, and much more..."

The annual convention was held in Atlantic City, New Jersey from December 4-7, 2019. We had a wonderful time chatting with many familiar and new coaches alike, and educating them about the value of speed measurement when training young athletes to improve their hitting power and mixing pitch speeds.  We were also lucky enough to catch up with two of the top minds in softball (and avid Pocket Radar users), UCLA coaches Kelly Inouye-Perez and Lisa Fernandez, fresh off their 2019 Women's College World Series title.

This was also the first year that the NFCA team implemented a new "Exhibit Hall Rental Batting Cage" program.  We were happy to take part and to have one of our longtime friends, Perry Husband, present on our behalf.  Perry is one of the foremost pitching/hitting trainers in the world, consulting with prestigious softball schools such as 2019 National Champion UCLA, Oklahoma and Oregon.  The title of his presentation was "Exit Velocity – Using Video & Radar Data to Train the Most Important Metric."

We are already looking forward to what the NFCA has planned for the 2020 convention in Dallas, Texas.  Best of luck to all of the coaches who stopped by the booth this year to either purchase or just chat with our team In Atlantic City!
