2018-2019 Coaches Conventions Recap

Another fantastic year in the books for the Pocket Radar team at the annual coaches conventions for NFCA, AVCA and ABCA.  This year included two new events for us; the Baseball Winter Meetings and the AFCA (football) convention. Also, we unveiled our latest technology, the Smart Coach Radar with companion app.  Below are some details and images from each convention.

NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association), Chicago IL.

We are very happy to be an Official Sponsor of the NFCA.  2018 was our 8th time exhibiting on the trade show floor.  This show is very special to us because of the relationships and friendships we have cultivated over the years with the wonderful coaches/members and other like-minded companies. We always enjoy seeing many of the same faces come to the booth to provide us an update about them, and learn from us about our latest technology.  Images below include a few friendly faces, latest booth design and our logo among the Official Sponsors of the NFCA.

Baseball Winter Meetings, Las Vegas NV.

This was our first time attending the Baseball Winter Meetings since 2010.  A lot has changed with our company, and the landscape of baseball, over the past 8 years. We were happy to showcase the latest technology in sports speed measurement with some of the top minds at the highest levels of the game.  Images below include the Mandalay Bay Hotel, our booth at the main trade show and the Clubhouse Managers Association trade show, and a front row seat at Scott Boras' media address about the Bryce Harper free agency sweepstakes.

AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association), Minneapolis MN.

The AVCA convention coincides with the same dates and location of the Division 1 Women's National Championships.  Congrats to Stanford on bringing home the championship. This was our 7th time exhibiting on the trade show floor, and we had a wonderful time speaking with some new and familiar members/coaches from the volleyball community. ABCA (American Baseball Coaches Association), Dallas, TX.

As an Official Partner of the ABCA, 2019 was our 10th time exhibiting on the trade show floor. This show is very special to us because of the relationships and friendships we have cultivated over the years with the wonderful coaches/members and other like-minded companies.  This year was extra special because we were able to bring together 3 of the brightest minds in the game (Fred Corral, Perry Husband and Jerry Weinstein) up on stage at the Expo Theater to discuss how the latest Smart Coach Radar and companion app is helping simplify and improve their coaching/training.  Images below include a few friendly faces from over the years (including 2019 Hall of Fame Inductees Joe Carbone and Pat Doyle), new booth design with hanging sign, and pics from the Expo Theater).

AFCA (American Football Coaches Association), San Antonio TX.

This was our first time attending the annual football coaches convention.  Similar to the AVCA, this convention also occurs during the Div. 1 National Championship (congrats to Clemson University).  We had a wonderful time meeting with coaches from around from the football community, and educating them about the value of speed measurement when training with quarterbacks and special teams.
